Assured Motion Float: the Maintained Deck Tilt Advantage

Maintained Tilt Extends Dock Leveler Life

Maintaining structural integrity is what Blue Giant Dock Levelers do best. Our solution is to allow the dock leveler deck to accept these stresses with our exclusive Maintained Deck Tilt feature found on all A and C-Series dock levelers. This allows for smooth forklift entry and exit during loading and unloading, compensating for truck and/or trailer canting of 4.

The dock leveler lip maintains a constant flush and level contact with the trailer bed during fork truck entry and exit. The floating rear hinge allows for a smooth level exit and entry into building during loading and unloading. Maintained Tilt reduces point loading on the dock leveler lip, reducing the possibility of bent lips and prevents forklift steering and tire damage.

Maintained Deck Tilt, Advantage Blue Giant

  • Reduce point loading to the deck & lip

  • Reduce deck fatigue and stresses

  • Reduce fork lift damage

  • Reduces dock transition jolts

  • Design extends dock equipment life

Fixed Rear Hinge with Deck Flex, Disadvantage Others

A fixed rear hinge dock leveler design requires the entire deck to flex to accommodate up to 4" height tolerances from trucks that back in unevenly or with uneven load distribution, etc. The negative effects of deck flex include:

  • Dock leveler deck dishing

  • Beam and weld separation

  • Deck fatigue

  • Bent lip(s)

  • Expensive maintenance

  • Equipment downtime

  • Steering system damage

  • Forklift tire chunking

  • Trip hazard within the trailer
