|
Deck Width
|
Wider docks allow more contact with the trailer providing a safer
transition between the trailer and the building.
|
Deck Length
(includes 16" lip)
|
Longer docks decrease the slope between
the dock height and the trailer. This decreases the impact of the
forklift on the dock leveler extending the life of the dock,
and can permit the use of less powerful material handling equipment
when the height differential between the dock and trailer is
increased.

Levelers are available in two different types: mechanical and
hydraulic.
The auto-return features automatically returns the dock leveler to
its park position.
|
|
Capacity
|
Capacity rating of a dock leveler is dependent on the maximum weight
of the loads being transported across the dock leveler and the
weight of the heaviest forklift. Capacity is dynamic rating and also
considers the amount of usage and the speed of the forklift. Please
contact an authorized Rol-Lift dealer for assistance is determining
the capacity rating required for an application.

Bumpers
|
Bumpers
prevent the trailer from hitting the building. Bumpers are available
in both molded rubber or laminated rubber in various sizes to
accommodate different trailers.
|
|
Lips
|
Lips
are the part of the dock leveler that extends into the trailer.
Longer lips are recommended when deeper penetration into the trailer
is required.
|
|
Weather seals
|
Weather seals
are rubber strips that seal the gap between the concrete pit and the
dock leveler helping to reduce heat (or refrigeration) loss to the
exterior. Brush weather seals also prevent rodents from entering
into the building through this gap.
|
|
Pour In
Pans
|
Pour In
pans eliminate the need to form a concrete pit in new construction
situations and reduce the cost of installing the dock leveler.
